Saint Augustine spoke for all human beings when he prayed, ”You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless, until they rest in you.” (Confessions, 1, 1.)

For us here in the Monastery of the Mother of Good Counsel, these words speak to our experience as women dedicated to the contemplative way of life. Our prayer and our religious vows, our silence and solitude, and our community life and work all witness to this “desire of the heart” to be one with God.
Do you find that your heart is restless to be one with God? Do you feel
drawn to serve the Church through a life of prayer and praise within a
contemplative lifestyle?
And are you are a single, Roman Catholic woman, between the ages of 20
and 35 (exceptions considered on an individual basis) who is free of debt
and personal responsibilities and who is attracted to our Augustinian
contemplative way of life?
If so, God may be calling and inviting you to discern if the Augustinian
way of consecrated life is His Will for you.
